FIRST OF SEASON’S WOOL SHIPPED
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 13. The first three shipments of the new season’s wool, including the bulk of that sold at the combined Dunedin-Invercargill sale last month, will be on the way to London and the Continent this week.
First ship away was the Blue Star Line's Empire Star, which left Port Chalmers last Saturday and is due to arrive at Hull on December 10 and at London two days later. She loaded 5200 bales of wool at Bluff, and 8900 bales at Port Chalmers, as well as cheese and other cargo at Auckland and Wellington. The Shaw Savill steamer. Bardic, which loaded at Auckland. Dunedin, Bluff, and Lyttelton, is taking about 22,000 bales of wool for Dunkirk and London, as well as a quantity of seeds and other general cargo. She sailed from Lyttelton this morning. The third shipment, totalling some 8300 bales of wool, is being taken by the New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor-vessel. Limerick, which sailed from Lyttelton today for Port Said, Geona, Hull and London. From now on throughout the season, shipments of wool will be loaded by the regular liners, as well as chartered ships.
