(New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Nov. 13. Nearly £1,000,000 was realised by the Invercargill portion of the Invercargill-Dunedin wool sale held at Dunedin on October 23 and 25. Returns supplied by the Invercargill Woolbrokers’ Association show that in the Invercargill portion of the sale 14,283 bales (5,479,5021 b were sold at auction for a return of £984,303. The average price per lb was 51.07 d. and the average a bale was £6B 6s 2d.
As there was no corresponding Invercargill October sale last year, the average price of all wool sold at Invercargill last season was 57.22 d per lb and £7B 17s 6d per bale.
