Still Whisky Galore

A party of amateur frogmen from Glasgow have made a successful raid on a whisky ship which has been lying wrecked in a sound between South Uist andj Eriskay since the early days of the war. They dived down 20 feet and salvaged several bottles of whisky which were difficult to get because they were in crates sandwiched between layers of bricks used as ballast. The wreck is that of the cargo vessel I Politician, which formed the subject of a popular film “Whisky .Galore.” It sank in a storm with , 21,000 cases of whisky aboard.
