Warning By Police Although Guy Fawkes Day is still two weeks away there has been an early’ sale of fireworks in Christchurch. Last Saturday evening at a public dance some confusion was caused when several crackers were fired. The organisers threatened to stop the dance if any more were set off. Last year several similar incidents occured at the same dance. ’ Chief Inspector E. J. C. Hay, of the Christchurch Central Police Station, said that any person caught setting off fire crackers in a public place would be dealt with severely.
