The Rev. O. W. Williams, vicar of St. Peter’s, Wellington, since has decided to resign the living at the end of this year. Mr Williams was a member of the staff of Christ’s College, Christchurch, from 1923 to 1947. Later he went to Paraparaumu and was vicar there from 1949 to 1952. Mr W. H. Price was re-elected by the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association last evening as its representative on the Christchurch Civic Music Council. Dr. William Geddes Shiach has been appointed medical superintendent of Cook Hospital. Gisborne. in succession to Dr. R. J. B. Hall, who retires on January 31 next year. Dr. Shiach, aged 36, is at present in private practice in Gisborne. He was born in Scotland.— (P.A.)
