Timber Worker Killed By Train
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. October 21.
A timber worker at Putaruru was killed when he was struck by a goods train on a railway bridge near Pinedale late on Saturday afternoon. He was:
Raymond Ward, aged 46, married, of Putaruru.
Mr Ward was crossing the 60feet high bridge, which is popularly used by millworkers as a short-cut to their homes, at 2.40 p.m. when he was hit by a train travelling between Rotorua and Frankton.
