Results of the second week’s play in the Anderson and Hill night tennis competition at the Opawa Tennis Club’s floodlit courts were as follows:

Women.—Mrs A. Timlin 22, Miss P Byrne 19. Men.—l. Jackson 25, J. Tregear 20 The first round of the inter-club night tennis competition for the Opawa Challenge Cup resulted:— South Brighton v. North Linwood —Women’s doubles: Mrs Boatwood and Mrs A. Atkinson beat Misses J. McGarry and B. Wilkie, 8-4. Men s doubles: V. Jones and A. Atkinson beat J. Ewart and J. Adams, 11-3. Sumner v. Opawa.—Women’s doubles: Mesdames Hessey and McGlinchy beat Misses Tregennlng and Carr, 8-4. Men’s doubles: D. Ferguson and W. Blair lost to R. Mellish and T. Jackson. 2-11. United beat St. Paul’s by 3 games to 1 and Linwood Avenue beat Elmwood by default.
