Two Centuries Scored

Centuries by E. Woods and H. Steere were features of women's cricket matches on Saturday. Both were aggressive and played good strokes. P. McCaw was dismissed 12 runs short of a century. She batted extremely well, timed her shots well, and hit the ball with the full face of the bat.

The fielding of St. Albans B was of a high standard, and returns to the wicketkeeper were very accurate. WESTERN v. ST. ALBANS

Alter Western had lost its first wicket, E. Woods (122 not out) and P. McCaw (88) formed a good partnership. and scored with shots all round the wicket. The St. Albans bowlers, J. Cockle and J. Harding, bowled accurately, and the consistently good length kept the scoring of the Western side down. H. Steere gave St. Albans a good start when she made 100. The rest of the side could not master tne bowling. E. Woods bowled well lor Western when she took six for 30 runs.

TECHNICAL v. KOTAHI Batting first, Kotahi scored b2 against the good-length bowling of Technical. B. Harris made 16. and played in her usual solid style, and M. Gebbie was very soHd on defence for her side. Making a return to cricket, L. Tini batted forcefully to score 12 not out. P. Moore again bowled well for Technical, taking four wickets, and M. Adcock tooK two wickets.

Technical 87 beat Kotahi 82 (B. Harris 16, M. Gebbie 12, L. Tini 12 not out; P. Moore four for 21 M Adcock two for 12) by five runs on the first innings.

MAI MOA v. TEACHERS’ COLLEGE Against accurate Mai Moa bowling, Teachers' College was subdued when it opened the batting. B. Hart showed plenty of power, and scored a sound 22. Some of the bowling was well off the wicket at this stage, and College could not add to its total I cpt a Sood length and! attacked the stumps. ' Mai Moa lost a wicket early. Put J. Rouse made stand with J. Johnston. and consolidated the innings ! L. Bayliss then batted forcefully I with good stroke play to score 36' not out.

Mai Moa 117 for three declared (J. Johnston 23. J. Rouse 48 L Bayhss 36 not out; J. Watson ’ one tor 36, J. Cochrane one for 45, B Hart one for 7) beat Teachers’ Colege 60 (B Hart 22: L. Bayliss two lor 5, J. Labuddi three for 5 B Line three for 3) by 57 runs on' the nrst. innings.

BECKENHAM v. ST. ALBANS A i Jhe Beckenham team lost a quick I wicket without scoring in its inn- ' A,t hough E.
