Malvern Matches
A feature of the second round of the Malvern cricket competitions was a fine 116 by G. T. Wright for United against Sheffield. This was Wright's second consecutive century, as he scored 149 in the first round. His innings was chanceless. Other good scores were 92 by N. Q. Wright (Sheffield) and 95 by R. Stuart (South Malvern). Results were:—
Sheffield 208 for eight wickets «N. Wright 92. A. E. Wright 45, D. Deans 50, B. Jenkins 19: E. H. Richards four for 81. R. Mackay three for 91) beat United 209 (G. T. Wright IV retired. J. Rich 30, E. H. Richards 43; A. F. Wright three for 66. G E. Wright three for 34).
Darfleld Juniors 175 (J. Gunn 29 D. Gunn 57, R. Irvine 16 retired. J. Scott 17 retired, N. Hervey 19 retired: R. Gunn two for 32) beat Darfield Seniors 106 (R. Gunn 23, T. McGown 17, G. Cummins V., H. Burnside 17 not out: D. Gunn two for 24. J. Scott three for 3. R. Irvine three for 9. B. Pinney two for 6).
South Malvern 219 (R. Stuart 95. N Rothwell 41. M. Stuart 37; C. Adams two for 25, J. Adams three for 52) drew with Greendale 168 for seven wickets (B. Ridgcn 33. S. Kay 23. K. Shipley 47. C. Adams 29. J. Hickman 15 nnt out: R. Stua-t two for 46, N. Rothwell three for 73).
