WORLD PRESIDENT OF Y.W.C.A.
Christchurch Visit On October 7 The world president of the Young Women’s Christian Association (Miss Isabel Catto) will arrive in New Zealand for a twoweek visit to association centres on October 2. She will arrive in Christchurch on October 7. Miss Catto is the eldest daughter of Lord and Lady Catto. of Aberdeenshire Scotland. She was born in the United St-tes. educated in Great Britain, and spent a great part of her early life tn travel in Europe. India. South America, and Africa. Before becoming world president of the Y.W.C.A. in 1955. Miss Catto had a distinguished career in its service. After joining its British staff she became deputydirector to Miss J. Begg in the Middle East, was later one of a relief team in Greece, director of Y W.C.A. welfare in Germany. Belgium and France, president of the national hostels committee and London division of Y W.C.A.. and subsequently a world executive member. Before her work with the Y W C.A.. Miss Catto had served with the Personal Ser vice League, headed the Women’s Voluntary Services Department, and been a member of the Council of Voluntary War Work.
