Teachers’ College Applications

Applications for entry to the Christchurch Teachers’ College, which closed yesterday, were the highest for many years. At midday yesterday, 346 applications had been received for division A (primary), as compared with about 270 applications last year. Thirtyone applications were received for the homecraft course, and 17for division C (post-primary). More applications are expected for the latter, however, with the awarding of post-primary teachers’ studentships. Interviews of all applicants will be held in the second and third weeks of October, in conjunction with medical examinations. All applicants will be informed as soon as possible after this whether they have been accepted
