New Departmental Heads
<New Zealand Press Association/ WELLINGTON, September 2. The Public Service Commission today announced the appointments of two new departmental heads Mr E. S. Gale, Assistant-Comp-troller of Customs, has been appointed to succeed Mr J. P. D Johnsen, who will retire from the position of Comptroller on Sep tember 30. Mr A. N. V. Dobbs has beer appointed Army Secretary-elect, and will take over from the present Secretary (Mr F. B Dwyer) when the latter retires in 1959. Mr Dobbs, who is 42, will attend a 12-month course at the Imperial Defence College in England, before taking up his appointment. Mr Dwyer also spent a period at the college. Mr Dobbs, who began his careel in the Labour Department, is at present the Administrative Assist ant Commissioner in the Police Department. Mr Gale joined the Customs Department in 1915.
