One Man Dies; Two Injured (New Zeaiana Press Association) INVERCARGILL, August 4. A middle-aged Invercargill man died in 'hospital tonight after both his legs had been amputated aS thh result .of an accident ,in which he was crushed between two carp. Another man had one leg amputated and' a - third man is in hospital with concussion. The dead man .was: Lindsay Noel Trotter, aged 47, married, chemist, of 65 Janet street, Invercargill. The injured are:— Peter Johannes Maria van Duivenvoorde, aged 32, painter, of 81 Elizabeth street, Invercargill. Amputated right leg and severe lacerations. Condition, “fairly satisfactory.” Donald EJdgar Diack, aged 20, timber grader, of Springhills, concussion and lacerations. Condition satisfactory. The accident occurred just after 2 o’clock this morning. Mr Trotter was backing his car when it was struck by a car driven by Mr van. Duivenvoorde. Only minor damage was done and the two men were behind Mr van Duivenvoorde’s car when they were struck by a car driven by Mr Diack. They were jammed between the two cars. Mr Diack’s car veered off and struck another parked vehicle. Mr Trotter died in Kew Hospitalyat 6.55 tonight.
