RAILWAYMAN INJURED
Leg Amputated After Fall Under Waggon
A railway worker was seriously injured early on Saturday afternoon when he fell underneath an empty stock whggon in the Addington yards, near the Matipo street level crossing. He is William Bryce, of 39 Torless street, a married man with two children.
,Mr Bryce suffered injuries to both legs and an arm. One leg was, amputated late on Saturday night, and yesterday afternoon his condition was reportpd to be still serious.
No-one saw the accident, which occurred shortly after midday. Mr Bryce Was working at the end of a rake of six waggons on a cleaning siding near the ton Showgrounds. It is believed that he slipped in getting between two waggons to uncouple the hook/
