Wool Board Chairman In Japan

(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) TOKYO, June 24. Mr S. Wardell, chairman of the New Zealand Wool Board, and Mr Briscoe Moore, member of the board, today ended a visit to Japan to see its wool manufacturing industry and the work of the International Wool Secretariat’s branch in Tokyo.

They arrived in Tokyo from Copenhagen via the Transporter Route on June 18, and in an eightday stay have visited Nagoya, Osaka and Kyoto. The two New Zealanders, the first to visit Japan representing the New Zealand Wool Board, said they had been well received and shown mills representing all phases of an extensive industry.

They spoke highly of what they had seen and of the fine quality of the fabrics produced. Both thought the potential for Still further use of wool in Japan to be considerable, and that this would be materially assisted by the work being done by the Tokyo branch of the International Wool Secretariat.
