MOTOR-DRIVERS’ LICENCES. LICENCES, which expire on June 30, 1957, may now be renewed at the County Office, Cheviot. Licences may be renewed for any number of years up to five, except by drivers required to produce Medical Certificates, who may renew for one year only. The licence fees are five shillings per year, plus one shilling and sixpence if a licence cover is required. With the exception of renewals which require Medical Certificates or Driving Tests, licences issued by the Cheviot County Council may be renewed by post, provided the licence about to expire is forwarded, together with the appropriate fee and a stamped, addressed envelope for return of licence. Persons 70 years of age or more must make an appointment for a driving test, and are required to produce a Medical Certificate, which must be dated not earlier than 14 days before the date on which the Test is carried out.
