Oil Prices

Sir, —Quite a nice Easter Egg, the reduction of one penny in the price of petrol. I wonder if the public know that during April we had a price increase for diesel fuel, power kerosene, lighting kerosene, and lubricating oil. Again this week we have a further increase of one penny for diesel fuel. What a racket. All passengers on the same tanker. The fare of one comes down; the others rise. If Mr Halstead, as he states, is watching the position carefully, something has gone astray.—Yours, etc., CHARLIE McIVER. May 2, 1957.
