667,308 Stockholders. The number of owners of General Motors Corporation (G.M.C.) stock increased by 91,000 in 1956, G.M.C. president. Harlow S. Curtice, reports. As of February 14, the General Motors shareholder family was at a new all-time high of 667.308 persons. In commenting on this spectacular example of Americans’ faith in their freeenterprise system, Curtice pointed out that the growing ownership of General Motors’ stock demonstrates how the benefits of “People’s Capitalism” spread to people in every segment of the economy.—New York.
