Chinese Demand For Wool
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) HONG KONG, April 13. A Sydney wool merchant said on arrival here today from Peking that Communist China could take £lOO,OOO worth of wool from Australia every month. Mr J. A. Lieutenant, of P. J. Zurstrassen and Fils (Australia) Proprietary, Ltd., said he had signed contracts with Pekin trade organisations to sell £16,000 worth of scoured wool. He believed Peking had more demands in this line, but his firm would hot sell more than this amount.
