Firm Market At I Melbourne , CNJZ. Press Association—Copyright) | MELBOURNE, April 10. There was practically a total clearance of the 17,900 bales offered at the Melbourne wool sales today. The selection was | good, comprising approximately 55 per cent, crossbreds drawn from a wide range of districts. The market was keen and animated, with prices very firm on those established when the series opened. The United Kingdom, Japan, the Continent, and local mills all operated freely. Prices at Melbourne sales included: —Super 64’s, 130 d; super 60-64’s. 121 id; super 56’s, 112 id; good 50’s, 892 d. Brisbane Offer Cleared In Brisbane today there was a full clearance of the 16,668 bales offered, with competition very
keen and Japan dominating the buying. Britain and the Continent gave good support. Values were very firm on yesterday’s, particularly for finer quality wools. The selection comprised good to best top-making wools, well grown, and in good condition. Some clips contained slight vegetable' fault and discolouration.
