TAURANGA CUP
Philadelphia In Form
“The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, March 22. Philadelphia and Alluring-may dispute the finish in the Tauranga Cup, the first leg of the double on the opening day of the Bay of Plenty Racing Club’s autumn meeting tomorrow. Philadelphia is • a light-weight which looked right on the verge of winning form again when she ran thi’’d in the Paeroa Cup, one mile and a half, last Saturday. She prefers soft ground, and the recent spell of showery weather will be in her favour. The second leg will be the Flying Handicap, of six furlongs. Acceptors include Japonica, Revenue, Red Eagle, and Rangipapa, and it is likely that they will dispute the finish. Japonica is at the top of the handicap with 8-5. She shohld be improved with racing at Paeroa last week, and will be ridden, this time by G. F. Hughes. There have been showers during the week, but today there was drying w’eather, and jf the fine spell continues the going will be good.
