WOMEN’S GAMES In the women’s cricket competi- ' tions, which were continued on Saturday, the highlight was a fine in- j nings of 113 by E. Dickson (Beck- 1 enham), which included good shots | all round the wicket. Continuing its second innings against St. Albans, Western made only 94 runs against a very mediocre attack. E. Woods and S. McCaw topped the scoring with 25 each. Excellent running between the wickets was a feature of the partnership between these players. P. McCaw (19) was the only other batsman to reach double figures. For St. Albans the main wicket-taker was again P. Blackler, who took seven for 57. E. Riorden bowled a consistent length to take two wickets for 22. St. Albans won outright. Beckenham, continuing its first innings against Mai Moa, declared with its score at 213 for six wickets, in reply to the Mai Moa first innings of 169. The top scorer was E. Dickson, who batted aggressively to make a well-deserved 113 retired. The other Beckenham batsmen to reach double figures were O. Williams 24, F. Penticost 24, S. Kilworth 15, and C. Cawtheray 10 not out. For Mai Moa, L. Bayliss bowled well to take two for 62. The Mai Moa second innings was forceful but patchy. L. Bayliss, with 33 not out, and A. Tini, with 14 not out, batted well. The only wicket lost was that of J. Rouse (14). Poor footwork limited the scoring of these players. The Beckenham bowlers were not as accurate as usual. Beckenham won by 44 runs on the first innings.
