OBITUARY
MR W. E. ORSBORN (New Zeatana Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 16. Mr William Edward Orsborn. assistant general manager of the South British Insurance Company. Ltd., up to his retirement at the end of November last, died in Auckland today He joined the company in 1912 and by 1931 had served at the Wellington, Bombay, Calcutta, Hongkong, and Auckland offices. MR H. R. SINCLAIR Mr Harold Reginald Sinclair, whose death occurred in Christchurch on Wednesday afternoon was chairman of directors of the engineering firm of Sinclair, Melbourne and Company, Lyttelton and through his connexion with shipping, he was well known overseas. He had been connected with the firrri for 40 years . Mr Sinclair was born in Lyttelton and was educated at the Lyttelton District High School He served his apprenticeship with the firm of Sinclair Brothers, of which his father, Mr Donald Sinclair, was a partner. On completion of his apprenticeship. Mr Sinclair served at sea in various ships until he had secured his chief engineer’s certificate. As with all members of the Sinclair family, Mr Sinclair was A keen yachtsman. He was a member of the Canterbury Kilwinning Masonic Lodge and of the Royal Arch Chapter, Lyttelton.
Mr Sinclair is survived by his wife, a son, Mr Desmond Sinclair Lyttelton, and a daughter, Mrs S. A. France.
