OBITUARY

MISS MABEL LITTLE “The Press” Special Service HASTINGS, Jan. 3.

Miss Mabel Little, who has died in Hastings at the age of 71, was well known in Hawke’s Bay as a nurse. .

Born in Canterbury, the daughter of Mr and Mrs J. S. Little, she began her nursing training at the Wellington Hospital and qualified in general, mental and maternity nursing. She served as matron of the maternity home at Ashburton and nursed in many districts of the North Island. Miss Little was a sister at the Wellington and Wanganui hospitals and nursed in private hospitals in Hastings. In 1929, she spent six months nursing in the United States. About ten years ago, she went to Hastings on retirement.
