MAGISTRATE’S COURT
THURSDAY (Before Mr N. J. G. Speary, J.P., and Mr A. S. Ward, J.P.) ON ENCLOSED PREMISES Frank Morcan, aged 74, a gardener, pleaded guilty to a charge that on December 26 he was found without lawful excuse but in circumstances that did not disclose the intention to commit any other offence on the enclosed yard r.t 171 Madras street. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence within six months if called upon. Sub-Inspector J. J. Halcrow said that Morcan, who had come from Rakaia for Christmas, was found in the yard at 11.40 p.m. by Constable Lardner. He was sleeping on an overcoat. He had ben drinking at various hotels and was intoxicated when he was found in the yard. He had 14s in his possession. Morcan told the Court he did not know how he got to the yard. REMANDED Edward William Bailey, aged 65, a labourer, was remanded to January 3 on a charge of obscene exposure in Fitzgerald avenue on December 26.
