(From Our Own Reporter)

WELLINGTON, Dec. 27.

Another measure passed last session, the Co-operative Companies Act, will also operate from Tuesday to synchronise with the commencement of the Companies Act.

The Health Act, which consolidates and aimends the existing law on public health, will

also come into force on January 1, except for that part dealing with air pollution. Another measure passed this year with Tuesday as its commencing date is the Trustee Amendment Act, which consolidates and makes changes in the law governing trusts and trustees.

The Veterinary Surgeons Act. which consolidates and rewrites much of the legislation dealing with veterinary surgeons so as to bring it into line with the Medical Practitioners Act in registration and disciplinary powers, will come into force on March 1. The Dairy Products Marketing Commission Amendment Act, which reconstitutes the Dairy Products Marketing Commission, establishes a Dairy Products Prices Authority and a Dairy Industry Loans Council, and provides for the disposal of any surplus received from the sale of butter and cheese, is to come into force on August 1. All other legislation passed by Parliament this year became operative from the time it received Royal assent.
