HUGE CULVERT AT CHEVIOT
OLD BRIDGE TO BE REPLACED
The installation of a huge concrete culvert on the Leamington road just north of Cheviot began early on Wednesday morning. The culvert, which is 120 ft long and sft in diameter, will carry flood waters from a nearby creek. The work is being undertaken for the Cheviot County Council which has recently re-built part of the road. A horseshoe bend has been re-formed, and the road now turns at right angles. When completed the culvert will replace an old bridge near the bend.
