SURF PATROLS ON BEACHES
ARRANGEMENTS FOR HOLIDAYS
Adequate patrols for six beaches in Canterbury have been provided by the Canterbury Surf Life-saving Association for the school holiday period. The patrols will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the week days, and clubs will provide the patrols on public holidays and week-ends. A red and yellow flag will be flown from club houses when patrols are on duty. The patrolmen will also wear hats of the same colours for easy identification. The beaches to be patrolled and the patrolmen who will be on duty are as follows: Waimairi, Mr D. Stewart: North Beach, Mr N. Wakefield: New Brighton, Mr N. O’Berg: South Brighton, Mr C. Claxton; Sumner (Clifton), Mr N. Webb; Taylor’s Mistake, Mr R. Sharman.
