TIGER MOTH CRASHES

WOMAN PILOT UNINJURED

(Hew Zealand Press Association) TIMARU, December 23. A woman pilot of the South Canterbury Aero Club escaped injury tehen the Tiger Moth she was flying crashed at the Timaru airport at Levels, about 4 p.m. on Saturday. She jt Miss Lavinia McDonald, of Timaru. Miss McDonald, flying on her own. was practising landings on the main jorth-south runway. The aircraft apparently bounced into the air after a tending, turned to the right, tore through a wire fence, and came to jest on the roadway running parallel <ith the runway. . When the aircraft struck the ground fte engine was torn from its mountMiss McDonald climbed out unhurt. The aircraft was badly damaged.
