Fijian Student’s Success

A student from a small village in Fiji, who came to Auckland in 1948 and studied anthropology because it gave him a chance to learn the history of his own people, will next year pass on that knowledge to other students. He is Mr Rusiate Raibosa Nayacakalou, whose appointment as a junior lecturer in anthropology at Auckland University College, has been announced. Mr Nayacakalou this year became the first Fijian to gain a master of arts degree with first-class honours at the college.—(P.A.)
