NEW DESIGNATIONS GAZETTED

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. December 21.

Two hew designations of rank have been introduced in the New Zealand Police Force and one designation has been abolished.

Under an amendment to the Police Force Regulations gazetted this week, the designation of sub-inspector is dropped and all sub-inspectors become inspectors. All those hitherto holding the rank of inspectors become chief inspectors.

The other new designation created under the regulations is that of chief superintendent. Appointments to this rank, which is between that of superintendent and assistant commissioner, have yet to be made. •n
