First Fog Of Winter Over England
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) . LONDON. December 19. Thick fog settled over most parts of England tonight, disrupting road, air and sea services. The south of England has been fog-bound for most of today. The fo?. the first major one of the season, stopped all Thames shipping and forced the diversion of aircraft from the London airport. In London, rush hour crowds inched home in buses and trains in the heavy mists. Three traffic accident deaths were attributed to the fog in provincial England. In another accident, in which a bus carrying prisoners from the Stafford gaol was involved in a collision with two other buses, five prisoners were injured
