ANNUAL DRAMA SCHOOL
COURSE AT MASSEY COLLEGE
Plans are well advanced for tbe New Zealand Drama Council’s eighth annual residential drama school which will be held next January at Massey Agricultural College, Palmerston North. Pupils attending the course will be able to work under a leading English producer, Mr Hugh Hunt, who is at present director of the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust. Mr Hum is well-known for his work as producer for the Old Vic Theatre al London and Bristol, and with the Abbey Theatre, Dublin. The tutorial staff will also include Mi John Thomson, of Auckland, who had produced many plays and musical comedies and has been judge at several drama festivals. Mr Thomson is also a member of the Drama Bursary Selection Committee set up by the Minister of In ternal Affairs. Another tutor at the school will be Miss Nola Millar, of Wellington. Particular emphasis will be placed on movement and Mrs Gisa Taglicnt, of Wellington, will give instruction n. this aspect of the work. Other subjects included in the syllabus are voice and speech, production and acting. The school will be held from January 7 to 16.
