GOLDEN WEDDING

MR AND MRS H. A. BISHOP

Mr and Mrs H. A. Bishop, of Stratford street, Fendalton, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary recently with an early evening dinner followed b; a party for members of their family and close friends at the Disabled Servicemen’s Re-establishment League Training Centre hall. Mrs Bishop is president of the women’s section of the Christchurch Returned Services’ Association and president of the Friends of the Disabled. Mr Bishop is keenly interested in cricket and bowls He was a membei of the St. Albans Cricket Club and a member of the Elmwood Bowling Club.

The three-tier wedding anniversary "ake was made by a friend. Miss Mona Grubb, of Methven. The master of ceremonies was Mr W. Evans.

Two members of the garden circle of the women's section of the Christchurch R.S.A., Mrs A. L. Maclachan and Mrs M. Lockwood, decorated the ball with massed bowls of yellow tulips, irises and greenery. Mrs J. H. Cocks arranged the musical programme.

Among the guests were Mrs J. McIntyre Smith (Napier), Mrs Stewart Jolly (Cromwell), Mr and Mrs Fobert Bishop (Waipawa). Mr Bert Bishop (Hastings). Mr and Mrs Ray. Grubb and Miss Grubb (Methven).
