GERMANY
Sir,—lf America, Great Britain, and France sincerely desire the reunification of Germany, all that is required is for them to order Germany to disband her nascent army. Then withdraw their own troops, bored, weary, and tired of their monotonous existence. When this has been done they must then order Germany to pay the money wrung from her into her Social Security Fund and raise wages generally 20 per cent. This would cause Germans to consume more of their own goods and propritiate the German Welfare State. Then the Soviets would be glad to allow the reunification of West and East Germany —Yours, etc., RALPH S. WHEELER. Timaru, Oct. 16, 1956.
