TEA). TO SEND PLANE THIS WEEK (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. October 15. An additional flight to the Chatham Islands to supplement the shipping passenger service of the Port Waikato would be flown on October 20 by Tasman Empire Airways. Ltd., under charter to the Government, said the Minister of Island Territories <Mr T. L. Macdonald) today. The flight would be from Auckland and return. Charges would be the same as from Wellington to the Chatham Islands, namely, £2O for passengers and Is per lb on freight, in spite of the longer distance. The Minister said it was also intended that Ansett Airways should make flights in December. January and February next. These flights would cope with additional traffic arising from the visit of the Duke of Edinburgh, and school children and islanders returning for the ChrV'tmas holidays.
