Ship Deserter Sentenced.— David Patrick Robins, aged 18, an ordinary seaman, pleaded guilty before Messrs F. E. Sutton and T. A. Mahar, Justices of the Peace, in the Lyttelton Magistrate’s Court yesterday to deserting from the overseas ship Port Pirie at Lyttelton. He was convicted and ordered to be detained in custody to await’ deportation under the Shipping and Seamen Act
