FLOOD REPAIRS TO COST £10M.
RENMARK (South Australia), August 25 Rehabilitation of flood-damaged property over about 200 miles of the Murray river valley between Renmark and Murray Bridge will cost at least £ 10.000.000, Mr Alex Downer, the Federal member for Angus, said last night It would take two or three years to restore the thousands of acres of orchards and rich pastures, of homes and highways which have been inundated, he said. Record Naturalisation.— A record of 29,105 migrants became naturalised Australians in 1955-56. the Department of Immigration reported today.—Canberra, August 25.
