PROMISING PACER OF TWO SEASONS AGO Lady Belmer, one of the most promising pacers produced two seasons ago is back in work at Methven with her ownertrainer. P. A. Watson, who produced Kelso to finish third to Highland Air and Lady Cook in the Heathcote Handicap at Addington last Friday. Lady Belmer is a five-year-old mare by U. Scott from a smart race mare in Ingle Belmer. by Jack Potts from Purple Patch, fotinder of a fine winning family, which includes Countless. Loyal Rev, Battalion Kelso, Inherit, and Ingle Belmer. Lady Belmer had eight starts two seasons ago for two wins. She beat Snowball and Banjo in the First Waihi Handicap at the Geraldine Club’s annual meeting and two starts later she beat Reveille and All In in the Salisbury Handicap at Washdyke. She showed tremendous speed and gamcness in her racing, but unfortunately she was not too reliable. She has not raced since her three-year-old season and now that she has aged she should be more solid. National Handicap: Secure and Au Revoir, Te Koi and Rowan Star. Queen Mary Handicap: Lady Cook and Merry Gold. Lady Shona and Loraine. Farewell Handicap: Secure and Au Revoir.
