FREE KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION
SECTION OFFERED AT WAINONI A section has been offered to the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association in the new Wainoni housing block for a kindergarten building. This was announced at the monthly meeting of the council. A gift from the McKenzie Free Kindergarten to buy books for the Kindergarten Training College was asknowledged by the principal (Miss R. Wilkie). Miss M. G. Lasson, who will be married soon, was granted leave of absence. Mesdames H. Valentine. W Harris, and A. Rintoul were appointed associate members of the Beckenham Free Kindergarten. Delegates apnointed to attend the conference of the New Zealand Free Kindergarten Union in Wellington from Sentember 18 to 20 are Mesdames McCaskill, P. J. Byrne. A. E. Hough, and S. Cropp. Miss Wilkie reported that during the month there had been much illness among children attending kindergartens and members of staffs. The staff of the training college had recently held a refresher course, and delegates from the West Coast, Nelson, and many parts of Canterbury were present, she said. Mrs F. E. Burrell presided.
