Scargill-Motunau.—Mrs R. C. Overton the retiring president was presented with a gift at the annual meeting of the branch in appreciation of her work while in office. Mrs G. Motukarara.—The 26th birthday party of the branch was held recently Items by a Maori concert party and local resident were much enjoyed. The birthday cake made by Mrs Needham and iced by Miss E. Woods, was cut by Mrs Orchard. Mrs Smith gave floral sprays to the presidents of visiting branches.

Governors Bay-Allandale.—The monthly meeting of the branch was held at the home of Mrs Baker. Mrs Dimes presided. Sympathy was expressed with Mrs Tracy in her illness. Plans w’ere made for the forthcoming birthday party of the branch. New Brighton-Aranui.—A demonstration of decorations for the home using driftwood was given by Mrs J. N. Kitchen at the monthly meeting of the branch. Mrs J Oakley was appointed delegate to the Dominion conference ? n Invercargill. Marshland.—The following officers were at the annual meeting of the branch:—president. Mrs C. Ching; vicenresidents. Mrs MacLaurhlan. Boyd and Lawson: secretary, Mrs M. Hopper; treasurer. Mrs M. Harewood.—Members agreed to contribute to the CORSO appeal at the monthly meeting of the branch. A talk on shops in London was given by Mrs Nicholls Plans were made to celebrate the branch’s twenty-third birthday.

Stvx.—-The twenty-first birthday party of the branch was held in the Papanui R.S.A. hall. Mrs R. Rule presided over the large gathering with representatives from the Dominion Council. Canterbury Provincial, Canterbury North Provincial, past and present members and sister branches Mrs M. Gibson made and gave the birthday cake. The president announced that Mrs Gibson was made a life member of the branch. Entertainment was given by Mrs Reeves and her concert party.

Port Levy.—Officers were elected as follows at the annual meeting of the branch:—president. Miss L. Richfield: vice-presidents. Mrs O. Williams and Mrs G. .Steele; secretary-treasurer, Mrs C. Jenkins; advisory member, Mrs Field; delegates. Miss L. Richfield, Mrs R. Turpin. and Mrs Haley; sales table secretary. Mrs W. S. Coop; competition secretary, Mrs Haley.

Greenpark.—Mrs L. Dulieu was reelected president of the branch at the annual meeting. Mrs E. Stalker was reelected secretary. Other officers elected were:—vice-presidents, Mrs R. J. Rickerby. Mrs G. Clarkville-East Eyreton.—A rag drive resulted in 12 bags of rags being collected. This was reported at the monthly meeting of the branch. Mrs Martin presided. A talk on her holiday at Te Kiteroa rest home was given by Mrs Frost. Mrs Clelland was appointed delegate to the Dominion conference in Invercargill. Birthday spray* were presented to two member*. £
