PANTOMIME CAST ENTERTAINED

The cast of the pantomime “Jack and the Beanstalk,” which has been presented by the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, was entertained by the association at the Wilding Park pavilion on Saturday evening after the last night of the show. Mrs R. Hill wife of the president of the association, made presentations to members of the cast.

Mr Hill thanked the producer, Mr Eddie Martin, and the cast saying that he had heard members of the audience remark that the pantomime was as good as many they had seen overseas. It was pleasing that it was so well supported. Mr D. Martin, a member of the committee of the association and business manager of the pantomime, congratulated producer and cast. He praised Mr Eddie Martin for showing what could be done in this type of entertainment, and for the manner in which he carried on his part after his voice had suffered.

“Jack and the Beanstalk” had been produced in many places but the principal boy Jack (Marjorie Marshall) and the principal girl Mary (Shirley Rushton) were the best that he had ever had, said Mr Eddie Martin.
