SALE OF RUGBY TICKETS “May I make a suggestion to the i Canterbury Rugby Union which will, I am sure, have the support of the great majority of Lancaster Park “bankers?” Can the union arrange to : sell admission tickets to the bank for the two Springbok matches here in i advance of the games? This would not , only ensure a minimum of delay for ; patrons in gaining admission, but i would also prevent disappointment for : many followers of the game who will ! almost certainly be turned away at the i gate when the ground is full. I note j that visitors coming to Christchurch by : rail and bus are to be landed here at ' 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. to avoid repetition of the bungling at Hamilton, where hundreds of visitors from Auckland failed to gain admission to the ground. There would be no need for this if an allocation of tickets was sent to Dunedin, Nelson, etc., some weeks beforehand. I understand that the English Football Association sells all tickets for admission to Wembley— not just for reserved seats in the stands, but to all parts of the ground—weeks before the cup tie. This procedure might well be copied by the Rugby uions here."—One of the by the Rugby unions here. —“ONE OF THE 50,000.

“We think this is quite a good suggestion and one that we will give very serious consideration to as soon as work is completed on the embankment.” said Mr H. C. Blazey. chairman of the union's sub-committee handling accommodation at Lancaster Park. “Such a scheme, however, involves the division of the embankment into blocks with a separate entrance for each section. This cannot be done this season. Access stairways have yet to be built and work on tne embankment completed,” he said.
