The Mackay goalkeeper, Polly Ma'-er. made several rood saves, but the rest of the Earn was compietelv o tclassed by the New Zealand combination. New Zealand players are well and still free from injuries.

N.Z. TEAM BEATS TOWNSVILLE

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Roc. 8 p.m.) TOWNSVILLE. June 21. The New Zealand women’s hockey team beat Townsville. 12-0. The game began at 4.15 p.m., to avoid the high mid-after-noon temperature.

The scorers were Collins (5), Maxwell (2), Warin (2), Burton (2), and Irene Sanson.

The New Zealand Rugby League players watched the game, and the two teams had a joint civic welcome this morning.

Malvern Women’s Competition The following were results of recent games in the Malvern women’s hockey competitions:—Senior, Kirwee A 7. Coalgate 1; Kirwee 15, Sheffield 0; Halkett a bye. Junior, Kirwee 3, Sheffield 0; Darfield 5. Coalgate 0.
