Whakatane Strike Settled.— Three hundred workers at Whakatane Board Mills, Ltd., who went on strike last Monday, returned to work at noon yesterday. Union and employer’s representatives agreed at a meeting yesterday morning to an increase of i 2 d an hour for all workmen involved Wages now range from 4s lid an hour for general labourers to 6s 3£d an hour for qualified paper operators.— (P.A.)
