SUNDAY BUS SERVICES

Sir, —I agree with Mrs M. E. Furey that the only way to make the bus services pay is by reducing the fares, but she does not know what she is talking about when she states that buses, as a public service, are not supposed to pay; “that is why we pay taxes.” It is not the taxpayer that pays for the losses on our bus services but the ratepayers, and Mrs Furey is not listed as a ratepayer.—Yours, etc., C. S. TRILLO. May 5, 1956.
