Alleged Atrocities In Cyprus

ATHENS, May 5. Greece would lodge an appeal against alleged British atrocities in Cyprus with the Human Rights Committee of the Council of Europe in Strasburg next week, the Prime Minister (Mr Constantine Karamanlis) announced in Athens last night. He said the text of the Greek appeal would not be released until after it had been lodged with the committee, but it was learned that the appeal would denounce Britain for “violation of the human rights convention." Specific cases of violations such as the institution of collective responsibility and other “crimes against humanity” in Cyprus would be listed.
