Portable Hut Which Inflates
, , LONDON. A portable hut big enough for 30 men to sleep in on a construction site can, it is claimed, be inflated and erected on any ground by one man in three minutes. Inflation is by a 12-volt blower which can be operated from a car battery. The hut, which has a clear floor space 30 feet by 19 feet and is nine feet high, can also be used as temporary garage, canteen, office or store. At 160 pounds, it weighs less than a tenth the weight of equivalent canvas tenting and needs no supporting poles Said to be completely stable in high winds and completely waterproof it dries within minutes even after the heaviest rains. Snow does not settle on the outer cover and it is not affected by frost. The structure is an inflatable lowpressure framework of rubberised fabric coating, designed to withstand tough, hard wear and having under reasonable conditions a storage life of up to 15 years. The detachable floor is of tough rubberised fabric; windows of flexible clear plastics and weather, proof, can be opened easily. A door a - e ac ' n . end 1S opened or closed from either side by zippers. Fastening points are provided for electrical and telephone fittings. There are six louvres for ventilation, and heating therefore presents no problems. .
