Medical experts have advised the British Government to warn the public of the risks of lung cancer from heavy smoking, the Minister of Health (Mr Robin Turton) told the House of Commons last night. ‘‘My standing medical advisory committee and the Central Health Services Council have again considered this,” he said in reply to a question. ‘‘l am advised that appropriate action should be taken to inform the public about what is known of the connexion between smoking and cancer of the lung and of the risks involved in heavy smoking.” London, March 20.
