Guinness, as agents, paid for tne three-vear-old King Robin. The unrated ! Gold Mars. 130gns. Lauder. lOOgns. and Artful King. 105gns. were the only other, to reach three-figure prices. I The 26 lots sold realised 1595gns. Hot Drop Sold I The four-vear-old gelding. Hot Drop, ’winner of the 1955 New Zealand and Great Northern St. Legers. was sold todav at Trentham for 1250gns Bidding, which began at 400 ens. quickly reached lOOOgns. and the final bid was made for Mr J. H. and Mrs M. McDonald, Ashhurst. This was the highest .price at the autumn of mixed thoroughbred stock, and contributed to the total of 2070gr.s realised for 12 lots sold. Sable, a three-quarter sister to Phar Lap. and r am of Watch and Wait, topped the brood mare prices with HOgns. She went to Mr F. P. A. Campbell. Havelock North. , The New Zealand Oaks winner. Wainawhenua was offered, but failed to reach a substantial reserve. A two-vear-old filly by Pride of Kildare—Fort Hope, was the best of the untried stock. Her purchaser w’as lhe Awapnui trainer. E. C. Baker, at J4ocns. The fillv is a half-sister to Nigra. Manitour and Tarwe, and to two winners in Australia.
